The 2010 Vosne-Romanee Vieilles Vignes is rich fleshy and beautifully balanced. Layers of dark red fruit mint flowers and spices flesh out in the glass as the Vosne shows off its considerable appeal. I particularly like the length here and while the finish is presently youthfully austere I doubt that it will remain that way for long. Worth a look. ♥

Good bright medium red. Pomegranate cherry minerals and game on the nose plus a hint of cassis leaf reduction. Sweet and juicy with pepper and herb elements energizing the palate. Sweet and juicy with pepper and herb elements energizing the palate. But a bit less intense than I would have expected from the nose.

The translucent ruby core and rim are as captivating as the inviting aromas of ripe red raspberry and savory strawberry. Fresh fruit is only one layer to this complex beauty as a floral array of roses lavender and violet co-mingle with hints of cola all-spice a bit of mint and damp earth. The fruit on the palate is well balanced by bright acidity minerality and a light array of well pronounced tannins. Enjoy on its own paired with softer cheeses roasted root veggies or mushroom-infused dishes and this will surely please. Expect this pleasing Burgundy to continue to mature through 2025 and possibly beyond.
