There are few if any producers who outshine Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry in the village, and as the crystalline ruby red robes across the range for his 2010s attest, he's at the top of the heap for this vintage, as well. Aromatically, as per usual, this offers a full cornucopia of pinot fruit, ranging from red to blue to black fruits of every description. Allied to that is a sense of place from the spicy earthiness, all of which carry over to the airy, yet palate coating flavors that are textbook Savigny with their earthy yet fruity components all in harmony. Delicious.
