Tasted at the Syndicat de Pomerol. The Rouget 2010 is very ripe and precocious on the nose with macerated dark cherries orange essence blueberry and a warm fug of alcohol. The palate is full-bodied with grippy tannins very good fruit concentration and admirable linearity towards the finish lending good focus and tension. This is a very fine Rouget one of Pomerol's ascending estates.

Dark core with scarlet rim, on the nose smoky red and black fruits, Kirschwasser , on the palate , stewed plums and spices, Morello cherries, scorched earth, medium to full bodied, fairly silky and velvety, some terrior, a bit modern, comes on a bit strong, but has some lift on the lingering finish. Should come to form within 2-5 years, and drink well for a dozen or more years.
