Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, March 2020

Pale to medium lemon-gold in color, the 2010 de Fargues charges out of the gate with super-intense green mango, lemon Meringue pie and baked pineapple notes with underlying hints of toasted almonds, clover honey...

Wine Spectator, April 2011

Unctuous and nicely formed already with juicy apricot green fig and honey notes. The finish is lush but with nice cut showing hints of toasted coconut and almond. Sneakily long. -J.M.

I love young Sauternes, especially when they combine intensity of flavor with sweet honey, fleshy textures and bracing acidity, leaving you with these great sensations of honey topped, tropical fruit, vanilla, pineapple...

Chateau de Fargues is one of the oldest estates in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux and has been in the Lur Saluces family since 1472. Wine production only began in the 19th century, and not until 1935 were white grapes planted.

Chateau de Fargues’ 17 hectares of vines are located on a clay-gravel plateau with a clay and hardpan subsoil. The vines are an average of 35 years old and consist of two varieties: Semillon (80%), which gives richness, roundness, and structure to the wine, and Sauvignon Blanc (20%), which contributes wonderful aromas.

Chateau de Fargues has an extravagant bouquet, superb flavor and sometimes develops minerality with age.
