This is a Bordeaux white from Mouton-Rothschild with the density and richness of a serious white Burgundy, but the sémillon in the blend gives it an exotic dried-fruit character, with plenty of pineapple and mango. Full and rich. Best ever from here. Decant now or hold for three or four years. 60% sauvignon blanc, 38% sémillon and 2% muscadelle. Drink or hold.

Clementine, white ginger, straw, verbena and white peach notes race along here, buttressed by lightly toasted brioche and salted butter hints. Rounded and flattering on the finish. Drink now. –JM

Deep aromas of gooseberry, candied pit fruits, green fig, chamomile and sage, with a suave floral topnote. Sappy and penetrating, offering intense nectarine and winter melon flavors complicated by musky notes of coriander and fresh herbs. Becomes sweeter with air and finishes with very good energy and volume, leaving saline and herbal qualities behind. An outstanding Aile d'Argent, one of the best to date. - Ian D'Agata

(NM88-90 points) The 2011 Aile d’Argent, a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 38% Semillon and 2% Muscadelle with 20% under malolactic fermentation, has a very composed, fruit-drive bouquet with lime blossom and red apple where the new oak still needs time to integrate. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of spice on the entry, leading to a flavour-packed mid-palate with notes of white peach, pear and nectarine. It seems a little more phenolic than other vintages, the Semillon very expressive and attractive.
