A wine of notable potential, the 2011 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatieres impresses for its depth and resonance. Layers of fruit cover every inch of the palate in a decidedly extroverted, viscous Folatieres endowed with tons of personality. Still, my sense is the Folatieres shows just a hint of its potential at this early stage. Carillon works this parcel by horse.

(BH89-92 points) There is a sufficient amount of reduction to render the nose difficult to assess. By contrast there is good freshness and verve to the mineral-driven and saline-infused middle weight flavors that exhibit fine balance and detail on the solidly persistent finish. This is not austere but there is a definite restraint present.

Round, with underlying acidity driving the lime, white flower, peach and apple flavors. Very fruity and creamy in texture midpalate, offering a lingering finish of spice. Drink now through 2018. – BS

More bonfire smoke character than their Macherelles Chassagne. Lots of flint and stone character. Pretty fleshy - could be a Meursault, in fact. 17.5/20 (RH)

Juicy, saline and penetrating; ripe but dry, and less forthcoming today than the Referts. Boasts lovely intensity of flavor and depth and good cut, but the wine's finishing edge of tannins and acids calls for a couple years of patience. 91+
