Layers of brisk saline minerality support the fruit in a typical vivid expression of Montee de Tonnerre. The 2011 is endowed with lovely overall balance and tons of class. A hint of ocean breeze delineates the bright finish. Anticipated maturity: 2015+. -Antonio Galloni

One of the brighter, more focused wines in this range of 2011s, the Chablis Montee de Tonnerre literally sparkles on the palate with beautifully delineated aromas and flavors. The essence of white stone fruits, flowers, crushed rocks and lime all burst from the glass in a focused, vibrant Chablis loaded with personality. All the elements fall into place nicely. A multi-dimensional, highly expressive finish rounds things out nicely. This is an impressive showing.

Discreet and appealingly fresh notes of algae, oyster shell and white flowers slide gracefully into rich middle weight flavors that possess both good volume and dry extract. I like the balance and sophisticated mouth feel... I like the balance and sophisticated mouth feel though the mid-palate concentration isn't quite what it could be.
