Bright pale yellow. A bit riper on the nose than the Chenevottes offering scents of peach and smoky minerality. Then juicy and nerveux on the palate; not a fleshy wine but has cut and lift. Then juicy and nerveux on the palate; not a fleshy wine but has cut and lift. I wanted a bit more concentration and personality though. Finishes with a spicy note.

It deserves just a little more vigour. The palate... The 2011 Chassagne Montrachet les Baudines from Thomas Morey has an attractive, if slightly conservative bouquet of hazelnut, white flowers and a hint of white chocolate. It deserves just a little more vigour. The palate is nicely balanced with tropical tones on the entry. It displays satisfactory weight in the mouth with just the right amount of salinity on the finish to urge another sip. - Neal Martin
