A stylish elegant understated St.-Emilion the 2011 Fonbel reveals plenty of dark berry fruit crushed rock and acacia flower characteristics. This pure effort requires some introspection but it is a very good well-made wine. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. -Robert Parker

63% merlot 20% cabernet sauvignon 10% petit verdot and 7% carmenere. Winemakers are Alain and Pauline Vauthier of Ausone fame. Fragrant and elegant on the nose with notes of blackberry raspberry blueberry and violet. It continues to show off its youthfulness on the palate with fresh fruit over a silky delicate structure. Lovely right out of the gate but lacks real substance. Enjoy on release and over the next 5-7 years.
