Made from 100% Merlot and tipping the scales at 14% natural alcohol the 2011 possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to abundant mocha black currant and blueberry fruit notes and hints of coffee beans and white chocolate. The wine tails off slightly in the finish and the tannins become more apparent suggesting that this cuvee may have just come off malolactic fermentation and has not fully fleshed out. It should drink well for 15 or more years.
