Wow. This Sauternes shows an amazing intensity of dried pineapple, mango and spicy botrytis. It really shakes you. Full body and very sweet, but with an intense, wild finish of everything. Insiders know that this is always one of the best Sauternes to serve as an aperitif due to its refined lighter style.

The Château Sigalas-Rabaud 2011 has a Semillon-driven bouquet with honey, beeswax, honeysuckle and white peach scents all focused and gaining in intensity in the glass. The palate is viscous on the entry, the honeyed fruits neatly offset by the acidity. It does not quite build upon its initial promise however, opting to play it safe on the finish. It is undoubtedly an attractive Sauternes but I suspect that affording it several year’s cellaring will pay dividends. - Neal Martin

Yellow gold with hints of green. Honey and citrus notes dominate the nose underscored by apricot and nectarine. Weighty and broad on the palate this shows lots of citrus flavor accentuated by a nutty quality and a mouthwatering finish. Good tension from start to finish. Enjoy now through 2030.
