The 2012 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from 2.5 hectares of vine, equivalent to one-third of the surface area. It has a generous bouquet with scents of lime flower and cold stone, hints of chestnut on the background. The palate is well-balanced with a fine line of acidity. This is well-balanced, very expressive with fine tension on the finish and a chalky aftertaste. Drink now-2030. - Neal Martin

Penetrating and powerful on the palate, with strong acidity and lemony cut accentuated by strong minerality. Has the buffering dry extract to support its touch of youthful bitterness on the back end. Today I prefer the young 2013 version but this really needs a minimum of four or five years of bottle aging to harmonize. 93+

Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages, January 2014
More immediate lemon freshness than on the Corton-Charlemagne but still a light oak spice. Richer and more intense on the mid palate. Power and length and lovely raciness. Very long. 18/20 (JH)

There is enough reduction present to push the fruit to the background though it does appear to be ripe. There is excellent intensity to the rich, full-bodied and highly energetic flavors that tighten up considerably on the detailed, minerally and relatively dry finish that displays distinct saline nuances. This is a powerful Chevalier with plenty of size and weight yet it avoids any sense of heaviness as the firm acidity maintains the proper balance.

This fresh white is full of peach, quince and grapefruit flavors, showing hints of pineapple and spice. There's good balance between the creaminess and tangy acidity, and this ends with a long, spice- and mineral-inflected aftertaste. Best from 2016 through 2026. – BS
