90+ Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Poruzots, much like Benjamin Leroux’s Poruzots 2012 tasted alongside, is very backward and stubborn on the nose, hints of peppermint emerging, verging on eucalyptus with time. The palate is well balanced with tangerine and marmalade notes on the entry. The acidity here is nicely judged. It might lack some finesse but one has to admire the outgoing personality and drive here. It would not surprise me to find it putting in a better showing in a couple of year's time. - Neal Martin
