Starting off a retrospective of the Infiniment cuvee and sporting a vibrant, inky purple color, the 2012 IGP Côtes Catalanes Infiniment de l’Ou is made from 100% Syrah, from yields of 15 hectoliters per hectare, that was vinified and aged in new oak. It has awesome notes of black raspberry and cassis intermixed with lots of spice, toasted bread and roasted meat-like nuances. Full-bodied, yet seamless and elegant, it has a stacked mid-palate, building tannin and a blockbuster finish. This is high class all the way. It should evolve nicely for over a decade, yet I see no reason to delay gratification either. - Jeb Dunnuck

The deep, inky colored 2012 Igp Côtes Catalanes Infiniment de L'Ou (100% Syrah vinified and aged in new barrels) comes from vines around the estate, in the southern part of the Roussillon. It offers a ripe, concentrated, yet still elegant style to go with lots of darker fruits (blackcurrants, plums), graphite and licorice aromas and flavors. It’s a big, full-bodied, sexy red to drink through 2025.

A deep brooding wine showing heady notes of blackberry liquor, crème de cassis and fresh cracked black pepper. The luxurious, rich and ripe aromatics are deceptive as the wine is not heavy on the palate. Rather, this is bright, vibrant and highly focused with wonderfully delineated black to blue fruits layered with dried herbs and spice, showing excellent depth and a long, persistent finish. While this could be mistaken for the Northern Rhone, it still maintains a sense of place with the highly distinct minerality imparted by the schist soils of the Roussillon. A knock out now, this will continue to impress for the next decade.
