One of the wines of the vintage, the 2014 Cotes du Roussillon la Vignon is the top wine of the estate and is a barrel selection of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Carignan, all from the Aspres region of the Roussillon. It offers straight up fabulous notes of crème de cassis, lead pencil shavings, chocolate and smoked earth, as well as full-bodied richness, a thick, full mid-palate and sweet, sweet tannin. Possessing shocking purity and no hard edges, it’s ready to go right now, but should drink just fine for another 5-7 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

This comes out swinging with aromas of ripe berry fruit, blackberry compote, saddle leather, sagebrush and Asian spices. The entry is less fruit-dominant than the aroma would suggest, with savory and spicy notes to complement the fruit, while traces of dried flowers and a mineral tone add complexity. Bright acidity and grippy tannins provide ample support. While this has entered a peak drinking window, expect this to offer cellar-ability for the next 5+ years.
