First released in 2005 as a special project of Tenuta Sette Ponti's Antonio Moretti, Orma translates to “mark” or “footprint”. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc, the wine is aged for 12 months in French barriques. Delighting critics and connoisseurs alike, this single-estate Super Tuscan has received many awards and accolades.

The 2012 Orma Proprietary Blend from Tuscany is a robust red wine that has garnered significant attention from wine critics. This Italian blend, composed primarily of 50% Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, is noted for its rich and compelling character.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, through reviewer Monica Larner, awarded this wine a score of 94, highlighting its "exceptional density and thickness." Larner emphasizes the wine's youthful nature, noting its tight tannins and long aging potential. She describes it as a wine at the beginning of its evolutionary journey, with flavors of dark fruit, spice, and chocolate that will appeal to those who appreciate rich Tuscan reds.

James Suckling, a renowned wine critic, was even more generous with his praise, granting the Orma a score of 96. Suckling describes the wine as having "lots of blackcurrants and blackberry aromas and flavors with hints of bark and mushrooms." He points out its full-bodied and chewy texture, which contributes to its powerful structure and depth. Suckling draws a comparison to other prestigious Bolgheri wines, stating that this blend is a "challenger to Sassicaia and Ornellaia," two of the region's iconic wines.

With an alcohol content of 14.5%, the 2012 Orma is a robust wine that shows both complexity and potential. It is bottled with a cork closure, reinforcing its traditional roots. Experts recommend allowing this wine to further mature, suggesting that it will reach its peak in 2018 or beyond. Overall, the 2012 Orma stands out as a formidable example of Tuscany's ability to produce world-class Bordeaux-style blends.
