The domaine’s 2013 Chambolle “Charmes” is excellent. The bouquet offers up a fine aromatic constellation of red plums, red and black cherries, cocoa, violets, chalky soil tones and just a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very refined, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent transparency, bright acids and impressive length and grip on the focused and very well-balanced finish. This will need some time to fully blossom, but it shows superb backend persistence and precision and will be a lovely bottle in the fullness of time. (Drink between 2021-2055)
