Whereas the RSV was hunkered down on the palate and waiting for its racking, the 2013 Hudelot Richebourg was absolutely singing at the time of my visit. This is going to be a great, great vintage for this wine, as it soars from the glass in an extremely pure mix of red plums, cherries, raspberries, cocoa, gamebirds, a marvelously complex base of soil, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and utterly refined, with a rock solid core, great focus and grip, fine-grained tannins and a very, very long, elegant and tangy finish. A beautiful Richebourg in the making. (Drink between 2025-2075) 97+
