Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots has a sophisticated, well-defined, expressive bouquet with red plum, redcurrant and raspberry fruit, nicely integrated oak that allows sous-bois aromas to percolate through with aeration. Lovely focus here! The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well judged acidity, focused and quite intense with admirable tension on the finish. It requires 4-5 years in bottle but it will reward those with patience. Tasted September 2016. - Neal Martin
