In the same fashion as the Ruchottes this too is firmly reduced and about the only non-reductive element that can be discerned is a minty nuance; I would make the same observation here that I made with the Ruchottes that the reduction is pungent and while it's admittedly an open question whether this will eventually revert to what fans of the Ramonet wines are used to, one can only hope. I say this because the raw material on the palate is excellent with plenty of mid-palate density and the natural class of Puligny is in evidence on the clean, bone dry and crisp finish. Those attributes duly noted, it would be fair to say that this is awkward at present and my score once again offers the benefit of the doubt given the almost unbroken track record of consecutive successes.

A toasty style, with smoky biscuit and spice notes accenting peach and apple flavors. Stays fresh and resonant on the long aftertaste. Drink now through 2020. 20 cases imported. –BS

Plump, spicy and sweet if a bit soft and lacking in lift in the early going. A distinctly round style of Puligny, with dominant flavors of stone fruits and nut oils. This dry, seamless wine offers early appeal but it also firmed up with air, showing more energy and smoky minerality. - Stephen Tanzer
