From the late ripening top of the Muschelkalk slope and 39-year-old vines, the 2013 Riesling Clos Windsbuhl opens with a deep, very clear, subtle, smoky, lemony, and floral bouquet with wet stone aromas, and the precision of a great Riesling. Full-bodied, fresh, very elegant and mineral on the palate, this pure, extremely focused, austerely mineral and highly complex wine does not have a single gram of fat and finishes with a fantastic grip, and a very long and salty aftertaste. This sleeper is probably one of the greatest and most tension-filled dry 2013 Rieslings I have tasted from this vintage, Austria and Germany included. A Must Buy for all Riesling freaks. - Stephan Reinhardt
