jamessuckling.com, July 2016

Aromas of blackberry, burnt orange, licorice and spice follow through to a full body, with super integrated and fine tannins plus a fabulous depth of fruit and center palate. This is a great wine. Drink in 2017.

Purchased in 1996 by Antonio Moretti of Tenuta Sette Ponti, Orma is located next to Ornellaia in the heart of Bolgheri within the district of Castagneto Carducci. Its 5.5 hectares of vineyards, between the hills and the sea, is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot on primarily sand and gravel soils, perfect for these varieties to thrive.

First released in 2005 as a special project of Tenuta Sette Ponti's Antonio Moretti, Orma translates to “mark” or “footprint”. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc, the wine is aged for 12 months in French barriques. Delighting critics and connoisseurs alike, this single-estate Super Tuscan has received many awards and accolades.
