Purchased in 1996 by Antonio Moretti of Tenuta Sette Ponti, Orma is located next to Ornellaia in the heart of Bolgheri within the district of Castagneto Carducci. Its 5.5 hectares of vineyards, between the hills and the sea, is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot on primarily sand and gravel soils, perfect for these varieties to thrive.

First released in 2005 as a special project of Tenuta Sette Ponti's Antonio Moretti, Orma translates to “mark” or “footprint”. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc, the wine is aged for 12 months in French barriques. Delighting critics and connoisseurs alike, this single-estate Super Tuscan has received many awards and accolades.

Introducing the 2013 Orma, a remarkable red wine hailing from the prestigious region of Tuscany, Italy. Crafted with meticulous care and expertise by the esteemed Orma winery, this proprietary blend is a true masterpiece that encapsulates the essence of Bolgheri.

In the glass, the Orma displays a deep and enticing ruby color, inviting you to delve deeper into its sensory delights. The nose is a symphony of aromas, with blackberry, burnt orange, licorice, and spice intertwining harmoniously. As you take your first sip, your palate is met with a full-bodied sensation, where the integration of super fine tannins and an abundance of fruit creates an unrivaled depth and complexity. The center palate is nothing short of fabulous, showcasing the wine's impeccable balance and structure.

Renowned wine critic James Suckling has awarded the 2013 Orma an impressive score of 98 points, praising its undeniable quality. Suckling suggests that this great wine is best enjoyed from 2017 onwards, allowing it to fully express its potential.

Wine Spectator, another esteemed publication, also recognizes the excellence of the Orma. Awarding it a score of 94, they commend its fine depth and concentrated fruit. Flavors of cherry, blackberry, spice, and earth dance on the palate, while a fleshy and structured texture leaves a vibrant and resonating aftertaste. Their recommendation is to savor this wine from 2019 through 2032 for optimal enjoyment.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate joins in the chorus of praise, awarding the 2013 Orma an impressive score of 95 points. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc showcases the opulent style that is characteristic of the sun-drenched vintage. With a refreshing sense of elegance and finesse, this full-bodied Tuscan red exhibits a seamless unity of black fruit, dried blackberry, and spice flavors. The Wine Advocate predicts that this beautiful wine will evolve gracefully over the next decade.

Devon Magee of JJ Buckley also sings the praises of the 2013 Orma, awarding it a score of 94 points. Describing its appearance as a deep ruby at the core, Magee notes the expressive nose dominated by Cabernet Franc aromas of green peppercorn and red currant. The palate is dense and juicy, with a brilliant core of berry fruit, mouthwatering acidity, and dusty tannins. Despite its age, this wine displays fresh, youthful agility and profound structure, making it an excellent candidate for extended aging.

The 2013 Orma is an exceptional wine that exemplifies the best of Tuscan craftsmanship. With its rich flavors, impeccable balance, and rave reviews from renowned critics, this is a wine that demands attention and appreciation. Whether enjoyed now or aged gracefully, the 2013 Orma promises to be a truly memorable wine experience.
