The 2013 Nuits St. Georges “Vieilles Vignes” from the Chevillon family is really lovely, with a very promising sense of reserve out of the blocks that will carry it far into the future. The pure and very classic nose wafts from the glass in a blend of dark berries, black cherries, espresso, woodsmoke, a lovely base of soil and just a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and beautifully focused, with a lovely core, fine soil signature, suave tannins and lovely length and grip on the classy finish.
