Reasonably concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with real power and a seamless texture. Grapefruit, gooseberry, red capsicum and chalky mineral characters are the most obvious descriptors although others emerged when the wine was tasted again a few hours later. I like the uncompromisingly dryness of the wine and its impressive length.

Pungent aromas of grapefruit pith, sour lemon, lime zest, anise and white and green pepper. Broad, rich and dry on entry, then smooth and refreshing in the middle, with white nectarine and citrus pith flavors joined by positive hints of lemon, dusty herbs and asparagus on the rich, vibrant finish. Not a particularly fleshy style but a classic Marlborough sauvignon blanc.

Underlying lime and green papaya plus stone and slate. It's full-bodied with a beautiful acid and fruit balance and a lively gooseberry, lemon and lime aftertaste. Tangy, vibrant and inviting. Graceful and elegant, with spice, Meyer lemon and quince notes up front. This is silky smooth but shows tremendous power on the finish, where crisp, clean acidity and flavors of mineral, ruby grapefruit and stone fruit... Graceful and elegant, with spice, Meyer lemon and quince notes up front. This is silky smooth but shows tremendous power on the finish, where crisp, clean acidity and flavors of mineral, ruby grapefruit and stone fruit crescendo. Drink now.--MaryAnn Woborevic

A struck-flint note on the nose gives this wine a touch of fumé character, and the familiar tropical fruit and overt green notes seem reined-in for this vintage. Those attributes actually make the 2013 an easier match... A struck-flint note on the nose gives this wine a touch of fumé character, and the familiar tropical fruit and overt green notes seem reined-in for this vintage. Those attributes actually make the 2013 an easier match with food, as does the racy line of acids that impart a crisp, citrusy feel from start to finish.--Joe Czerwinski
