The nose on this bottling by Fintan du Fresne is relatively light and delicate, showing crushed gravel, smoked meat and a touch of thyme. The flavors are also more delicate than robust, with plum fruit laid across a slate-driven minerality, making it versatile for many different dishes and settings.

Deep garnet at the core fading only slightly to a magenta rim. Aromas of just-ripe bing cherries and loamy earth rise from the glass with a few deft swirls and directly translate to a juicy, pleasantly ripe palate that closely echoes the nose. Subtle but persistent acidity keep this pretty expression of Central Coast Pinot in balance. Baking spices marked by vanilla notes work in conjunction with silky tannins for a moderately long finish. Drink now for the next 3-5 years.
