In 2014, it is the wine's textural depth and resonance that stands out. The late harvest resulted in white grapes endowed with a magical combination of density, power and freshness. Although the blend is 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Semillon, there are essentially no green or grassy notes to be found. Even with all of its intensity, the 2014 remains bright and finely cut throughout. Lemon oil, white flowers, mint and sage are laced into the beautifully textured finish. This is a very strong showing from Cos d'Estournel.

(WA90-92 points) The Château Cos d'Estournel Blanc 2014 is a blend of 66% Sauvignon Blanc and 34% Sémillon that was picked between 22 September and 9 October at 29.3 hectoliters per hectare. It is matured in around 15% new wood. It has a clean and fresh, quite "minimalist" bouquet with the Granny Smith apples and granitic scents, but all low-key compared to previous vintages. The palate is fresh on the entry, the Sauvignon Blanc delivering fresh green apple and nectarine notes, a citric thread of acidity and plenty of energy towards the saline finish. It is a delightful Cos d'Estournel Blanc that should drink immediately from bottle, yet should mature for several years if you so wish. - Neal Martin

(WE89-91 points) There is just a streak of herbaceousness here, but the core of this wine boasts ripe yellow-fruit notes and a touch of spice from the wood aging.
