(WA91-93 points) The 2014 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru les Beaux Monts has a tightly knit blackberry and briary nose, backward and sultry at the moment. The palate is well defined with fine tannin, chalky in texture with good tension and a palpable sense of energy and mineralité on the finish. This is a great Les Beaux Monts in the making, reflective of its terroir and very precise...but the Suchots might be even better! - Neal Martin

(BH90-92 points) A restrained, cool and overtly spicy nose exhibits a pretty combination of both red and dark berry aromas along with floral and sandalwood hints. There is better volume and ample minerality to the solidly constituted medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by riper tannins while delivering better depth and length.
