This was one of the last wines to finish up its malo, which did not stop bubbling until September 15th, but the wine was in good form in early November. The bouquet is bright and classically Chambolle in its red fruity mélange of cherries, red plums, nutskin, chalky soil tones and a lovely topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and soil-driven, with a good core and brightness, lovely balance and a long, moderately tannic finish. This will be a lovely villages. (Drink between 2019-2040)

(87-90) This too is exceptionally pretty with a layered array of various red berries, violet and gentle wood nuances. There is once again a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delineated, sleek and very Chambolle-like flavors... There is once again a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delineated, sleek and very Chambolle-like flavors that also evidence a hint of bitter cherry on the youthfully austere finish.

Bright, translucent ruby-red. The nose is intense and leads with aromas of ripe red fruit, namely cranberry, red cherry and pomegranate. The nose is intense and leads with aromas of ripe red fruit, namely cranberry, red cherry and pomegranate. Under the fruit there is an herbal/spice note, a mild, red flower potpourri component and freshly tilled earth. The red fruit takes center stage on the palate while subtle floral elements add complexity. This is quite vibrant, with bright acidity, soft, silky tannins and a medium to long finish. It’s capped with a dry, stony mineral streak. While drinking nicely in its youth, this should continue to deliver pleasure over the next 12-15 years.
