The 2014 Morgon Côte de Py James underwent a 14-day maceration and is matured in exactly the same barrel formation as the Javernières, even bottled the same day. The only difference is that these vines are located towards the top of the hill. It has a luscious black cherry, cassis and fig-scented bouquet that is outgoing and vivacious. The palate displays very fine substance, more weight in the mouth than the Javernières with layers of pure, salted licorice-tinged dark cherry fruit fanning out on the finish. This is a superb wine from Jean-Marc. - Neal Martin
