The 2014 Aloxe-Corton from Domaine Rollin Père et Fils is also an excellent bottle in the making, offering up a nascently complex bouquet of red and black cherries, venison, iron soil tones, woodsmoke, coffee and a nice touch of coriander seed. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and quite suave on the attack, with a good core, fine soil drive and a long, well-balanced and ripely tannic finish. This will be lovely with three or four years in the cellar.
