This Chardonnay opens up with a wonderful balance between the seductively ripe profile that is a hallmark of this producer and a savory, herbal edge that adds complexity and intrigue. Citrus and orchard fruit aromas form the core while traces of tarragon, fennel and caramel dance at the edges. On the palate, there are citrus and pear flavors with an appealing herbal streak that pick up a touch of oak on the back end. This is a round, soft and supple expression of Chardonnay that is firing on all cylinders and should hold through 2020.
