Poggio al Tesoro is a dream come true for Marilisa Allegrini, who fell for the land and saw its exceptional value and quality. After just a few years and a great deal of hard work, Poggio al Tesoro is now a thriving 70 hectare (173 acre) estate in prime Bolgheri wine-making territory.
The Estate currently has four vineyards: two situated along the Via Bolgherese, the largest one in a village called Le Sondraie near the sea, and the fourth in the town of Bibbona.
Poggio al Tesoro owes a great deal to Marilisa’s brother Walter Allegrini, who chose the parcels of land that would constitute the current estate, aiming for diversification in terroirs and grape varieties. The estate produces wines with a distinctive personality, expressing power and complexity as well as elegance and depth.
