The earlier completion of the malo for the villages this year at Domaine Chevillon has the wine absolutely singing at the time of my visit. The superb nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, cocoa, a touch of nutskin, a lovely base of soil and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and quite soil-driven in personality, with a lovely core, fine length and grip and a very refined, suavely-tannic finish. A lovely old vine cuvée. (Drink between 2019-2045)
