This is 70% grenache with the remainder equal parts syrah and mourvèdre. Aromas of ripe raspberry, red plum and cherry, with herbs, pepper and a whole bunch of sappiness, too. The palate has radiant, regal tannins in fine proportion. Super fresh. Best from 2020.

With all of its power and richness, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape La Cuvee du Papet is a huge step above the regular bottling. It shows the vintage style with its moderate concentration, yet is fine, elegant and silky, and has a beautiful finish. Hide bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following decade.
