Patrick Essa began picking around the 13th September, as much as two weeks later than many of his fellow vignerons, but none of his wines lack freshness. Notes of mirabelle plum, yellow orchard fruit and spring flowers lead into a full-bodied, deep palate of serious power and concentration. There is good cut and focus through the finish despite its amplitude.
