Partially destemmed, vinified in concrete and raised in foudre, this is a super effort among the entry-level 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape. It's 80% Grenache Noir (worth making the distinction because there is some Grenache Blanc in here as well), plus the other permitted grape varieties. There's a fine almond-paste note, ripe cherries and a lush, silky finish that picks up hints of garrigue and dried spices. It should drink well for at least a decade. - Joe Czerwinski
