While the reds are well-known from this iconic estate, their white doesn’t get the attention it deserves, which is a shame as it’s one of the best in Provence. A blend of mostly Marsanne and Roussanne, with small amounts of Grenache Blanc, Clairette, and Chardonnay, the 2015 Coteaux d'Aix en Provence Alpilles Blanc has a deep, reductive style in its orchard fruits, crushed rock, flinty minerality, and charcoal bouquet. Beautifully concentrated, with a stacked mid-palate and integrated acidity, it has no hard edges, gorgeous balance, and a big finish. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following decade or more.
