The 2015 Macon Milly Lamartine Clos du Four has a very keen and precise bouquet, hints of yellow flower complementing the citrus fruit, direct and focused, perhaps more conservative than the domaine's other 2015s. The palate is crisp and fresh, more expressive than the regular Macon Milly Lamartine at the moment, with touches of orange zest and spice (ginger) on the finish. Dominique Lafon did not produce a better Mâconnais wine in this vintage—this is just a fabulous wine that is going to be difficult to resist in its youth. -Neal Martin

This site always gives low yields, often making it one of the most full-bodied of the Lafon Mâcons, and though this year it is not quite as ample as Le Monsard, it is more taut and penetrating on the palate, with impressive grip through the long finish. Drinking Window 2016 - 2024

Smoky mineral-style reductive notes pair with a variety of citrus influences to make for one of the most interesting aromatic profiles in the range. There is excellent punch and delineation to the driving and surprisingly full-bodied flavors that exude a subtle stoniness on the clean and very dry finale. This is first-rate and Mâcon-Villages level wines don't get a whole lot better.
