In July 10, 1890, five Riojan and Basque families who shared a passion for wine founded the ‘Sociedad Vinícola de La Rioja Alta’ in Haro's Station Quarter. They erected a winery on the pillars of quality, elegance, innovation, and evolution, enthusiastically sharing the dream of making and aging top-quality Rioja wines. Thus began a pursuit of excellence that continues into the 21st century with identical enthusiasm, combined with the most modern winemaking technology.

La Rioja Alta’s particular 'treasure' is the more than 400 hectares of estate-owned vineyards located in the best terroirs of Rioja. They also manufacture their own barrels from imported American oak (currently about 30,000) using artisanal methods.

Today, the wines of La Rioja Alta are an international exemplar of the great wines of Rioja, and their brands are present in the best restaurants across all continents.

Introducing the exquisite 2015 La Rioja Alta Vina Arana Reserva, a remarkable red wine hailing from the esteemed Rioja region in Spain. With its captivating aromas, balanced structure, and velvety texture, this wine is sure to delight even the most discerning palates.

In the glass, the La Rioja Alta Vina Arana Reserva showcases a deep, ruby color that hints at its elegance and depth. On the nose, it entices with a bouquet of dark plum, raspberry, and mocha, complemented by earthy notes of mushroom and cigar box. Subtle hints of chocolate, coconut, and coffee add complexity and intrigue.

On the palate, this wine reveals its true character. Full-bodied and finely textured, it envelopes the taste buds with ripe, fine tannins and bright acidity. The balance between these elements is impeccable, lending a supple and velvety mouthfeel. The succulent finish is long and satisfying, leaving lingering notes of coffee to tantalize the senses.

Crafted from a blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano grapes, the La Rioja Alta Vina Arana Reserva embodies the essence of its terroir. The grapes undergo meticulous sorting and a 19-day fermentation process in stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation in American oak barrels for three years. This traditional approach enhances the wine's complexity and aging potential.

Renowned wine critics have recognized the excellence of this vintage. James Suckling awards it an impressive 95 points, describing its balance and supple nature. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate praises the wine's new Gran Reserva style, combining freshness, intensity, and sophistication. Vinous awards it 94 points, highlighting its energetic character and concentrated flavors. Wine Spectator rates it 92 points, commending its supple tannins and complex profile.

The 2015 La Rioja Alta Vina Arana Reserva is a masterpiece that embodies the rich heritage and craftsmanship of Rioja winemaking. Whether enjoyed now or cellared for future enjoyment, this wine promises an unforgettable experience.
