Velvety and expansive on the palate, offering juicy boysenberry and black raspberry flavors that deepen steadily as the wine opens up. (90-93 points) Moving to the 2015s and not yet bottled, the 2015 Gigondas Confidentiel is a tank-aged blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah that offers impressive dark fruits leafy herbs, underbrush and dried violet aromatics. It’s medium to full-bodied, has beautiful purity, fine tannin, and outstanding length. It’s going to evolve nicely for 10-12 years.

(90 - 92 points) The 2015 Gigondas Confidentiel is the smallest production cuvee and is 80% Grenache and 20% Moruvedre brought up all in concrete. It has beautiful purity in its ripe plum and blackberry fruits, violets and mint aromatics. These give way to a medium to full-bodied, rounded and beautifully textured Gigondas that will benefit from a year or two in bottle and keep for a decade.- JD
