Champagne Pol Roger created their Prestige Cuvee in homage to Sir Winston Churchill, mindful of the qualities that he sought in his champagne : robustness, a full-bodied character and relative maturity. The exact blend is a closely guarded family secret but it is undeniable that the composition would meet with the approval of the man to whom it is dedicated.

Pinot Noir predominates, providing structure, breadth and robustness whilst Chardonnay contributes elegance, finesse and subtlety. Composed exclusively of grapes sourced from Grands Cru Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards, which were already under vine during Churchill's lifetime, Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill is only made in the very best vintages and is always released later than the other vintage-dated Champagnes from Pol Roger, marking Churchill's appreciation for older wines.

The 2015 Pol Roger Winston Churchill is a Champagne blend with a notable presence in the market. Originating from the renowned Champagne region in France, this wine is a product of Pol Roger, a respected producer in the industry. Presented in a 750ml bottle, it has an alcohol content of 12.5%.

The wine has received a variety of reviews from professional critics, generally ranging from very good to excellent. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate awarded it 94 points, describing it as a "strong effort in a less-acclaimed vintage" with "aromas of confit citrus, ripe orchard fruits and dried white flowers mingled with hints of honeycomb, freshly baked bread and anise." William Kelley of the same publication notes its "bright acids, chalky structuring extract and a pinpoint mousse," and suggests it will "reward a bit of bottle age."

Vinous also gave a high rating of 95 points, emphasizing the wine's "savory side of the vintage" and "notable freshness and vigor more than size." Antonio Galloni specifically highlights its "hints of dried pear, sage, mint, dried flowers, lemon oil, and chamomile" and mentions that it "unfolds nicely with time in the glass."

Jeb Dunnuck's review, with a score of 95 points, lauds the wine's "remarkable balance for this hot vintage" and "vibrant acidity, a rounded and elegant mousse, a chalky texture, and a mouthwatering finish." Audrey Frick suggests it is "more approachable than the 2013" and recommends a drinking window extending to 2040.

James Suckling offers one of the highest praises with a 96-point score, noting its "very complex nose with a wide spectrum of candied citrus, dried peach and mirabelle tart aromas." Stuart Pigott commends its "great drive and persistence right at the end."

Wine Spectator matches this sentiment with another 95-point review, describing it as "creamy on the palate" with flavors of "crème de cassis, lemon-infused pastry cream, smoked almond, and oyster shell." The review also mentions its "long, harmonious finish."

Wine Enthusiast gave the highest rating of 99 points, highlighting its "wonderful biscuity aroma" and stating the wine is "at a perfect stage and ready to be drunk," but also capable of aging "certainly until 2030."

Decanter, while more reserved with a 91-point score, still appreciates the wine's "subtle and restrained pastry nuances with a hint of mushroom" and "elegant, with reserve wine complexity."

Lastly, The Wine Independent awarded a 96-point score, praising its "aromatically spirited and generous" nature with "enticing aromas of lemon curd, ripe apple, almond paste, butter pastry, and orange peel."

In conclusion, the 2015 Pol Roger Winston Churchill is a highly regarded Champagne blend, celebrated for its complexity, balance, and potential for aging.
