This is a superb white with a dense and layered mouthfeel. So much green papaya, mangoes and cream. Full body, bright acidity and a long, long finish. Great wine. Full Burgundy winemaking here, yet this is a unique Bordeaux white. Fantastic. Drink or hold.

(WA91-93 points) The 2015 Valandraud Blanc is a blend of 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Sauvignon Gris and 20% Sémillon matured in new oak (cigar-shaped 300- and 500-liter barrels). Strangely, it is more reticent on the nose than the Virginie Blanc at the moment, but there are attractive mango and dried pineapple scents that emerge with time. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry, the oak nicely integrated and allowing those subtle tropical notes to blossom on the finish. This could evolve into a very classy white Saint Émilion. - Neal Martin

(JL92-92 points) From a blend of 40% Sauvignon Gris, 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon, the wine is equally rich, fresh, lively and filled with crisp, yellow citrus fruits, green apple and vanilla bean notes. The wine delivers a fresh blast of pomelo and honeysuckle in the finish.
