(90-92) The 2015 Côtes du Rhônes Lieu Dit Clavin, this cuvée is mostly Grenache from very old vines planted just around the estate. Just as a point of reference, the three Châteauneuf du Pape comes from vines just across the street, no more than a couple hundred yards away. One of the top Côtes du Rhône produced in just about every vintage, this beauty has classic Vieille Julienne characteristics of black licorice, black cherries, roasted herbs and scorched earth in a medium to full-bodied, rich, concentrated style.
