(91-94 points) From very old vines, two thirds planted in the 1920s. Good rich red with a slight violet tint. This is graceful at the front, then a touch of oak and redcurrant fruit behind, a tiny bit raw but holds together quite well. Not quite the length of the best Pousse d’Or wines this year though.

This is also aromatically airy and cool with a trace of VA sitting atop the ripe dark cherry, violet, spice and sandalwood aromas. Once again the tiny yields are evident as this is an unusually concentrated and powerful Feusselottes that coats the palate with dry extract before concluding in a relatively powerful and lengthy finish. This is not a Chambolle of lace and grace but it is impressive in its fashion.

(88-90) Bright medium red. Initially a bit mute following the Côte de Beaune wines but aeration brought aromas of red raspberry, red licorice and summer flowers. Moderately ripe on the palate, with black cherry and herb flavors in need of time in bottle to expand. Finishes with slightly drying tannins and a licorice nuance. Losses to the frost were minor here, according to owner Patrick Landanger.- ST
