94+ The 2016 Demi-Sec from the Clos du Bourg is a stunning wine in the making, with a great synthesis of depth, transparency and refined elegance. The bouquet is superb in its youthfully complex mélange of sweet quince, pineapple, chalky minerality, a touch of bee pollen, white lilies, citrus zest and a dollop of paraffin in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and nascently complex, with a rock solid core, great soil inflection, bright acids and impeccable focus and grip on the very long, balanced and properly youthful finish. Great juice.

From 30-year-old vines on calcareous loam soils, the 2016 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Demi-Sec offers a clear, pure, fine and intensely aromatic bouquet with tropical fruit and chalky aromas. Round, lush and exotic on the palate, with a silky texture and salty piquancy on the finish, the 2016 needs up to a decade to integrate the 19 grams of residual sugar.
