On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with a sapid core of fruit that largely cloaks its chalky tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish.-WK collapse

Plush and sweet but given shape and grip by a firm medicinal spine. Here the tannins are rather delicate and refined. Finishes with subtle sneaky length, a note of cocoa powder and lovely floral energy. Quite fine-grained and discreet today, but with an element of medicinal reserve that promises much more ahead. -- Stephen Tanzer collapse

The rich, concentrated and overtly powerful broad-shouldered flavors brim with sappy dry extract that also buffers the complex and impressively persistent finish where the only nit is a trace of warmth. This is very firm and will need extended cellaring; indeed 15 to 20 years is likely to be necessary if you wish to see this at its peak. collapse
