(WS91-94 points) Gorgeous creamed raspberry and blackberry fruit glides along, carried by a fine mineral edge while letting alluring spice and black tea notes skitter through. Dreamy. – JM

The 2016 La Fleur de Gay is a wine of real personality and class. Dark cherry jam, mocha, espresso, blood orange and rose petal give the 2016 an exotic quality that is hugely appealing, while beams of supporting tannin provide the framework. In the glass, the 2016 is rich, dense and remarkably vivid, all of which make it absolutely compelling. This is a fabulous showing. -- Antonio Galloni

Where is that Peking duck? Ripe and rich with a solid structure, this is a serious and substantial Pomerol with a very satisfying balance of ripe and savory character, the tannins building nicely at the finish. Drink or hold.

The 2016 La Fleur de Gay has a rich, opulent bouquet of lavish black cherry and cassis aromas that billow from the glass. The palate is ripe and rounded, displaying impressive grip and structure and delivering a lot more substance than the La Croix de Gay. Mocha and espresso emerge toward the finish, which feels just a little oaky at the moment. Give this four to six years in bottle. -- Neal Martin

The 2016 Château La Fleur de Gay reveals a saturated purple color as well as a complex style in its notes of new saddle leather, lead pencil, graphite, tobacco leaf, and sweet red and black fruits. It’s a medium to full-bodied, sexy Pomerol that has moderate tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a plush, polished, elegant texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s a beautiful wine. Drink it any time over the coming 15-20 years
