From a slightly higher elevation site in Conn Valley (the vineyard was planted in 2006) and brought up in new barrels, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard is more open and expressive, with a sexy, seamless profile. Blackcurrants, black cherries, dried herbes de Provence, chocolate, and graphite notes all flow to a medium to full-bodied, soft, downright irresistible Cabernet that has the plushness to offer pleasure today, yet the balance to keep for 15-20 years or more.

This pumps out crushed loganberry, plum and blackberry fruit flavors that ride through authoritatively, while lively licorice snap and fruitcake accents peek in throughout. A singed apple wood note frames the finish, giving this form and direction. Solid. Drink now through 2025. 300 cases made. — JM
