Complex nose melds plum, black raspberry, spicy oak and violet, plus a hint of purple fruits. Suave, silky, highly concentrated wine with captivating soil-driven flavors of black raspberry, violet and mocha. Finishes spicy and very long, with a superb spine of acids and fine-grained tannins. Really spreads out to saturate the palate, with lingering floral and spicy notes providing lift. This cru is usually picked toward the end, along with the estate's Bourgogne.- ST collapse

The sleek and almost painfully intense flavors possess imposing size, muscle and power while delivering first-rate persistence and depth on the well-balanced and youthfully austere finish. This isn't quite as dense as Charmes or the Baudes but I very much like the sense of proportion and harmony. Excellent. collapse

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety and generous, with a lavish core of succulent fruit cloaking its fine tannic chassis, its balance and energy alike promising long evolution in bottle. As is usually the case chez Sérafin, this will demand a bit of bottle age to integrate its new wood, so purchasers should count on the better part of a decade's patience.- WK collapse
